What is Phofs Academy, and What curricula does it offer? 

Phofs Academy is a South Africa Pre-University online School offering Cambridge International AS & A Levels and SA Adult Matric -SC programmes to students residing in sub-Saharan African countries to prepare them for admission into any university of their choice.

 

How does online school work?  

An online school is a virtual school utilising technology as a medium of instruction for remote students. The predominant instructional model used in Phofs Academy is live interactive sessions with a set timetable, where students communicate with teachers, interact with fellow students and undertake exams.

 

How is an online school different from traditional schooling? 

Phofs Academy blends the traditional schooling set timetable system with a virtual instruction system to encourage discipline and make learning as efficient and productive as possible. The main difference between Phofs Academy and traditional schooling is that with Phofs Academy, students can learn from the comfort of their homes. Live classes also enable better social interactions as in the traditional schooling system, making the learning environment as motivating and enjoyable as possible.

 

How is an online school different from homeschooling? 

In contrast to parent-directed homeschooling, online schools are directed by certified teachers to engage students online. Students' success is reinforced when teachers collaborate with parents to help monitor progress at home.

Is there any financial assistance offered?  

Yes, financial assistance is offered as a full scholarship to a few disadvantaged applicants who are academically deserving.

How much is the tuition fee?   

• Adult Matric and AS level cost R1700 per month

• A2 Level consisting of 3 subjects cost R1860 per month

• An A level consisting of 2 subjects costs R2000 per month

• An A level consisting of 3 subjects costs R3000 per month
• An A level consisting of 4-5 subjects costs R3500 per month

 

Are there any discounts on the fee? 

Yes,

• 10% on upfront annual payment.
• 5% on upfront semester payment.
• 12% for two or more siblings enrolled.
